Obituary of Marylynn Cavender

Marylynn Cavender, a resident of Olympia, Wash for the last 3 ½ years, passed away Friday, September 22, 2006 at her home. She was born June 24, 1923 in Baca County Colorado to Jules and Eglantine Libbrecht. She attended nursing school in Pocatello Idaho from 1940-1944 receiving her Nursing degree. She returned to school in 1994 to receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of Nevada Reno in 2001. On August 10, 1944 she married John Davis Cavender in Jerome, Idaho. He died on June 29, 1973. Mrs. Cavender had been a Registered Nurse from 1944-1969 and a Business Owner from 1969-1987. She had lived in Hayward, California from 1957-1993 and Carson City, Nevada from 1993-2003. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, and golf. She had been a Cadet Nurse from 1941-1944 and was a life member of Soroptomist International of Americas. Marylynn is survived by her son; Dave Cavender (wife Karmie) of Olympia, Wash; daughter, Leslie Pfaff (husband Brad) of Walnut Creek, Calif; sisters; Louise Libbrecht of Olympia Wash, Helene Burkhart of Alta Loma, Calif and Juliette Turner of Newport, Oregon; four grandchildren, Drew Pfaff, John, Miranda, and Rebecca Cavender. In addition to her parents, a brother, John Libbrecht, preceded her in death. A funeral mass will be held at 12:15 p.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1062 Charnelton, Eugene, Oregon 97401. Memorial Donations may be made to Hospice of Thurston County.
