I'll always remember Grady for making me eat hash (after a night of too much fun) when I could hardly stand to look at it. He was a wonderful man and I'll treasure the memories of spending time with Dana at your home. Love, Violet

I am so blessed to have met Grady and Bobby. Their love for each other and the Lord was something that is not often found in our world today. Grady is a great example of what a gentleman and great dad is.....I never had a dad, a for a few short months, he filled that spot for me...and for that I am forever grateful.
I know that Grady want to see the Lord, and towards the end, God gave Grady peace that his love, Bobby, would be well cared for. And that thought alone, brought Grady a lot of peace.
I believe the light in the world is a little dimmer now that our Grady is gone, yet , I know, that we all have a great reunion waiting!!

Uncle Grady filled us with love, laughter, and wisdom.
I am filled with memories of wonderful visits, all night story swapping, great debates (in which he always had the last word) and the wisdom of a man who truely lived life to the fullest. He was a man who was the true definition of a soldier. A brave warrior - a man of distinguished valor. His presence was so profound even from thousands of miles away. I'll never forget brocolli casseroles, trips to see old friends, listening to you and Mom talk about days gone by, teaching little boys to march, and you holding my hand when I was in pain or the confidence you had in me. You've taken that final flight home but someday we will have that grand family reunion again. Until then, I know you will be singing and striking up the band. I love you and miss you, my uncle, my friend.
We will not need a special day to bring you to our minds. Those days we do not think of you will be very hard to find. Each morning when we awake we know you are gone. No one knows the heartache as we try to carry on. Our hearts ache with sadness and tears, we cant stop the flow. How it hurt to lose you, no one will ever know. Our thoughts are always with you, your place can never be filled. In life we loved you dearly; in death we love you still. We'll hold you close within our hearts and there you will remain, to walk with us throughout our lives until we meet again. Our family chain is broken now and nothing seeems the same. But as God calls us one by one the chain will link again.
Oh that I had wings like a dove! For then I would fly away and be at rest” Psalms 55:6

To my dear Bobbie, Lori, Dana, and Colleen - - I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers are with you to get through this time of transition. I remember Grady's ray of sunshine and spirit for life sprinkled with humor. His humor and endless gratitude make it hard to comprehend his reality of coping with cancer. I am so grateful for my visit with Grady last fall. Bobbie, a big hug to you for your love, dedication, and caring to Grady. Peace and much love to Grady and all of you.
