Obituary of Jon D. Butler

Jon D. Butler, 73, of Olympia, died July 10, 2009, at this home. Jon was born January 13, 1936, in Shelton, Washington, to Alvin and Irma (Clark) Butler. He was raised in Shelton and graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in 1954. On October 15, 1965 in Centralia, he married the former Patricia A. Everett, who survives. Jon served in the U.S. National Guard. Survivors in addition to his wife include one son, Jon Bradley Butler, Centralia; one stepson, Michael Sims, Springfield, Oregon; one daughter, Valli Durbin, Olympia; one brother, Clark Butler, Shelton; also one grandson, Jon-Michael Sims. A celebration of Jon’s life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Rivers Edge Tumwater Valley Golf Club, in Tumwater. Memorial donations may be made in Jon’s name to Providence SoundHomeCare and Hospice.
