Obituary of Wally R. Burgess

Wally Burgess, 78, was born in Dayton, Washington to Clarence and Catherine Burgess.He graduated from Pomeroy High School. He joined the Airforce in 1950. In 1955, he married Coral Ells, in Moscow, Idaho. Together they raised two sons around the Northwest before settling in Olympia. Wally had a love of all sports, he was up to date on all current and high school sports, knowing all players names and stats. He loved watching the Seattle Mariners, Seahawks, and was a diehard Washington State Cougar fan. He enjoyed his morning coffee with his buddies at the Ribeye. Wally is survived by his wife, Coral; son, Ronald; grandchildren; Melissa, Jerica, Nicolas, Greg, and Gary; and nephew Don Burgess. His son, Randy preceded him in death. Wally loved his family and his beloved dog "Bear" with all his heart. He fought a courageous and painful fight that lasted many months. Many admired his strength and courage. A celebration of Wally's life will be held at 3:00p.m. Saturday August 20th at the Recreation Room at Edgelake Mobile Home Park. A covered dish meal will follow the service. Memorial donations may be made to Sound Home Care Hospice in Olympia or a favorite charity.
