Obituary of James Lee Burgess

James Lee Burgess “Always a Free Spirit” James Lee Burgess, 44, former resident of Olympia, lost his long courageous fight with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, Leukemia and Neuropathy on January 11, 2009 in Honolulu, Hawaii. James was born at Madigan Army Hospital on March 25, 1964 to Vaughn A. and Soon Lee Burgess. During his life, James lived in Agat, Guam; Waipahu, Ewa Beach, Hawaii; Olympia and Tacoma, Washington. He attended grade school in Tumwater and High School in Waipau, Hawaii. James shared his life with long time Partner, Janet Mojica and daughter Jamielyn Mojica and worked as a construction worker. During his free time, he enjoyed martial arts, listening to reggae music and watching scifi movies. James is survived by his partner, Janet of Agat, Guam, and daughter Jamielyn; his parents, Vaughn and wife Evelyn Burgess of Rochester, Washington , Soon Lee Burgess of Honolulu, Hawaii; 3 brothers, Frank De La Cerna, David Burgess, Ryan Urquizu; 2 sisters Mary Kim, Susan Capinia; 2 step brothers, James Carr, Arnold Wellman; 3 step sisters, Toni Bigelow, Janet Walter, Nancy Howell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jacob L. Burgess and Mamie E. (Corbin) Burgess. At his request, there will be no services.
