Obituary of Patricia Budde

Patricia Budde Patricia Lee (Bowe) Budde 90, long time resident of Olympia, WA died Feb 10th, 2012. Born to Lynn and Selma (Johnson) Bowe she was the second of four children. She is survived by her two younger siblings, Lynn Bowe and Phyllis Wilcox both of Minnesota and many, many generations of nieces and nephews. She continued to celebrate her Minnesota roots thoughout her life. A force to be reckoned with, Pat was the widow of Charlie Budde longer than they were married but she never stopped being his wife. She lived in the house they bought together until months after she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She was eventually placed at Roo Lan Care Center. Pat took great pride in her job as a file clerk for the state for 24 1/2 years. She worked in the old capital building and enjoyed retirement longer than her career lasted. She also continued to "babysit" until the age of 86. Possessing an amazing memory for dates and names, Pat loved puzzles and often spoke to the pieces as if they had feelings and personality. Having been a member for decades, Pat was very proud to have been a Past Madam President of The Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxillary. She was also a long term member of The American Legion. Pat enjoyed socializing and knew many people in the community. She enjoyed long relationships with her neighbors in West Olympia and often depended on their help and kindness once Charlie had passed away. The family wishes to thank all of the members of the community that touched her life and we would especially like to acknowledge the people she frightened so badly when jaywalking on State street during rush hour. To quote one of her favorite sayings, she was "as independant as hogs on ice." We were continually amazed that she was never harmed as a result of this habit. She was indeed a character!
