Obituary of Arnold Brokaw

Arnold “Arnie” Brokaw Arnie, 62, passed away at home surrounded by family on December 20, 2011 in Yelm, Washington. He was born February 19, 1949 to Bruce and Olive (Yonker) Brokaw in Tacoma, Washington. He served in the U.S. Army in the early 1960s, and married his wife of 25 years, Christene Samuelson, on May 3, 1986. Arnie was a self-employed lineman for over 30 years, working for numerous cable TV and telephone companies. He loved hockey, going to the beach, and riding his ’48 Flathead Harley. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife and children; they were his world. He was a member of SCTV. Arnie was a very kind and loving man. He had a wonderful smile and awesome personality. He always expressed his love for his family and his gratitude for their care of him. He is larger than life in the hearts of those he leaves behind: his wife, Christine of Yelm; sons Adam Brokaw and Zack Gunderson of Yelm; daughters, Deena Brokaw of Dalles, OR and Natalie Brokaw of Yelm; brothers, Howard Brokaw of New York, and Harlan Brokaw of Tampa, FL; sisters, Arlene Dinch of West Virginia and Holley Dunning of Attica, NY; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
