Frank Broach

Obituary of Frank Redding Broach

Frank Redding Broach Jr. was born on December 15, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Frank Redding Sr. and Billie Maxine Broach. He grew up in a family of seven, with three sisters and one brother. After graduating from Kirkwood Senior High School, Frank joined the Army. While in the Army, he served a tour of duty in Korea where he met Yong Sim Pak. They dated and soon married. To their union, first son Tyrone was born in February of 1985. While commissioned in the army, the family relocated to Washington State and purchased their home together. Four years later they welcomed the arrival of their second son, David Jerome in August 1989.Frank served in the military for 16 1/2 years. He was a veteran of the Gulf War and later received an Honorable discharge. His post military employment was with the United States Postal Service for nearly 11 years. During this time he reunited with God and became a member of the nondenominational Livingstone Church in Tacoma, WA until his life was cut short at the age of 48. He was the greatest husband and father and will always be remembered. He was loving and caring and had the ability to make people laugh. To family and friends, his kindness and generosity will always be remembered. This November, Frank and Yong would have celebrated 25 years of marriage. He enjoyed a wide range of hobbies, from his enjoyment of cooking to cruising and bottom sea fishing with his friends and sons. Frank also enjoyed making model houses, painting model cars, working on cars, and gardening. He was also a member of a RX Car Club and took his boys with him when they had activities. Most of all Frank enjoyed his family and friends. When he would visit St. Louis, he would go bargain shopping with his mom and would enjoy long conversations with his dad over a banana split. He would spend hours with family and friends reminiscing about old times. Frank is survived by his wife, Yong and two sons, Tyrone and David Jerome of Lacey, WA. Other surviving family members include a sister Myrna Davis, Houston, TX, brother Anthony Broach and sister Melinda Love of Kirkwood, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shelley Ashford-Smith. Also surviving are Frank's father-in-law, Kum C. Pak, sister-in-law, Yong Suk Pak and husband, Chong H. Kuak, sister-in-law, Yang J. Pak and husband Kum S. Chun, all of South Korea; sister-in-law Yong and husband Glenn Lee of Hawaii; with special acknowledgement of cousin Karon Benion and family also of St. Louis, Missouri. Frank will be greatly missed, and though he may not be with us physically, he will always be with us spiritually. Frank leaves family and friends from all areas of his walk through life, from its’ beginnings in Kirkwood with childhood friends, to his Postal Service family in Seattle, to his final resting place in Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent. All members of the Broach family, immediate and extended, would like to extend the warmest heart felt thank you, to friends and families for your words of support and efforts of goodwill and kindness. Words are not enough, but we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
