Obituary of Bonnie Brink

Bonnie Claire Brink Bonnie Claire (Fennimore) Brink, 84 passed away on November 28, 2011 at home in Lacey, WA surrounded by her husband and Family. Bonnie was born on September 4, 1927 to Claire and Amy (Bonney) Fennimore at the family ranch near Riparia, WA, where she spent most of her childhood. She attended school in Lacrosse, WA. In her senior year she moved to Seattle to be with her mother and graduated from Roosevelt High School. On April 6, 1947 she married Kenneth Brink, of LaCrosse in Seattle. They celebrated 64 years of marriage this past year. In 1949, their daughter, Rebecca Ann was born. Becky was the light of their lives. Sadly, her life was cut short by cancer when she was only 41. Kenneth, a career U.S. Marine, led them to various place, including Hawaii, alameda, CA Santa Ana, CA, Spokane , WA and Yuma, AZ Upon his retirement in 1977 they moved to Corvallis, OR. In 2004 they moved to Lacey to be near family. Bonnie received a Vocation al Nurse Training Certificate and worked in OB for many years in Santa Ana, which she enjoyed immensely. She was an avid reader and loved to broaden her knowledge and keep her mind sharp. She excelled as an artist and enjoyed golfing, bowling and using her computer. In Corvallis she owned and operated her own business, The Knitting Machine Center. She taught machine knitting at seminars throughout the northwest. Bonnie had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a smile on her face, even though the past two years were a challenge for her various health problems. She was also a breast cancer survivor. The family would like to thank the caregivers from Total Care and the Providence Hospice Team for the wonderful care they have given to Bonnie in the Last month s of her life. Her survivors are her husband, Kenneth, sister-in-law, Marge Brink, nieces and nephews, Gary Grewell Suzanne Bryan, Linda Hill, Terry Marden, Steve Brink, Joan Myrick, Larry Brink and their families. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
