Obituary of Jerry Bridgewater

None In Remembrance Jerry W. Bridgewater Jerry 69 passed away on February 27, 2012, at Providence St Peters Hospital in Olympia, WA. with his family by his side. Jerry was born August 6, 1942 in West Terre Haute, IN. He joined the USAF in 1960 directly out of high school and spent 4 years serving overseas. The last part of his tour of duty was spent at Paine Field Air Force Base in Everett, WA where he met his wife of 48 years Gloria Hansen. They were married October 26, 1963 in Everett. Upon leaving the Air Force he spent six years in W. Terre Haute, Indiana working for Public Service Indiana at the Dresser Station before moving to Centralia, WA in 1971, where he went to work for Pacific Power & Light at the Centralia Steam Plant. He retired in 1998. As a longtime member of the community Jerry was active in many organizations. He freely gave his time supporting youth football and baseball (Little League through American Legion). He was active in the Elks, Moose Lodge, VFW, Ducks Unlimited and was a lifetime member of the NRA. Jerry had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing which he passed on to his sons, daughter and grandchildren. When Jerry’s health began to limit his time in the field hunting he began working tirelessly with Ducks Unlimited to ensure that the ducks habitat would be there for the next generation to enjoy. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Gayle and Lorraine Bridgewater and his brothers Charles and Louis all of W. Terre Haute, IN. He is survived by his wife Gloria, brothers Ed (Helen) of Booneville, IN, Paul (Mary Lee) of W. Terre Haute, IN, and David (Nancy) of Tulsa, OK, sister Beverly Bolin (Jim) of Tulsa, OK, sons Jerry Jr. (Cindy) of San Antonio, TX., Jon (Katie) of Los Alamos, N.M., and daughter Lori Haldy (Wayne) of Rochester, WA. And grandchildren Meagan, Haley, Riley, Samantha and Noah and also numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry will be deeply missed by all who he came in contact with him.
