Obituary of Kenneth Wayne Booher

Kenneth Wayne Booher, Born April 23, 1944 passed away surrounded by close family and friends the day before his 62nd birthday. He was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania to Velma and Delmar Booher, third to the youngest son of six brothers and one sister. He was in the United States Navy from June 1966 to June 1968. He was a resident of Washington State for the past 31 years, bringing his family here to work, enjoy the beautiful outdoors, and fish. Survived by his wife of 34 years, Virginia; two sons, Jeffrey Booher and Robert Booher and his wife Lauren Sweeney, and daughter Jenny Booher. He graduated from San Jose State University in 1971 with a BA in Business, minor in Computer Science. Upon graduating he worked as a Systems Analyst and found he preferred working with people. Changing professions, he became a salesman in the gift industry working as a Factory and Manufacture Representative. Dansk International Designs moved him to Southern California and after three years they moved his family to the Northwest. The majority of his professional life was in Sales until he found his true niche in buying textbooks. Being an intellectual person, who always enjoyed a good discussion, he found it much to his liking to purchase textbooks from college professors forwarding them to a Textbook Recycling Company, Amtext. The last 15 years of his professional life was spent on the college campus in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Always willing to “wet a line” he loved to travel through the mountains and valleys of the North West fishing whenever he had the opportunity. His only regret was that he couldn’t take his family more often. He loved camping, hiking, collecting fishing books, rods and reels, and fly tying. He loved classical and jazz music and going to concerts. He was a Christian, who based his faith and trust on God’s word and the sacrifice of God’s Son to save a place for him in Heaven. He had been a faithful member of Capital Vision Christian Church. He will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Handicap Ramp Fund at Capital Vision Christian Church. The family would greatly appreciate your comments, and funny stories about Ken.
