Obituary of Jean Shirley Bogar

10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006 The Masonic Center 521 North Street S.E. Tumwater Jean Shirley Bogar, 80, a 40-year resident of Olympia, died on Thursday, December 14, 2006. She was born on June 6, 1926 in Olympia to Kenneth O. and Lillian (Rixe) Carey. Jean graduated from Olympia High School in 1943 and attended the University of Washington. In 1967, Jean married Pete Bogar. He died in 1990. From 1943 to 1963, Jean was married to R.W. Reinertsen. She worked as a librarian for the State of Washington. She enjoyed antiquing and was a collector of curios. Jean was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Olympia. She enjoyed 18 years of friendship and sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous. Jean is survived by two sons, Bruce Bogar, of Olympia, and Kenneth Reinertsen, of Shelton; one daughter, Carol Becker, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; 11 grandchildren; 27 great- grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and by a daughter, Anna Maria Reinertsen. You are missed and loved by your family, from Bruce and DeAnn. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2006, at the Masonic Center, 521 North Street S.E., Tumwater, followed by a graveside service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Masonic Memorial Park, 455 North Street S.E., Tumwater.
