Obituary of William G. Benson

William G. Benson William Benson, 87, died of a heart attack March 17, 2011, in Chehalis, Washington. He was born to William C. and Clara Hulst Benson on December 24, 1923, in San de Fuca, WA. William graduated from high school in Coupeville, WA. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in WWII (March 20, 1943 – September 22, 1945) in the European Theater. He married Marian R. Watson on June 7, 1951, in Ellensburg, WA. They were married almost 60 years. Professionally, William worked as a radar technician until his retirement in 1986. William was outgoing and talked to everyone. He loved his yellow coffee cup, scroll-saw woodworking, computer games, puzzles, berry picking, and fishing in a small boat in Puget Sound (as a young man). He also enjoyed burning piles of vegetation to clear his property. He is survived by his wife, Marian; sons, Dale and Michael; daughters, Leanora and Gail; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
