Obituary of Frank Preston Beck

Frank Preston Beck, Jr., died at his home in Chehalis, WA on Friday, March 9, 2007 from Cancer. He was born July 18, 1944 in Hempstead, New York to Frank Preston and Jeannie Margarete (Dooling) Beck. He graduated from Lee High School in Springfield, VA in 1962; received his Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah in 1969 and his Master’s Degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson in 1971. On May 27, 1966 he married Elisabeth A. Guild in Salt Lake City, Utah. She survives him at the family home. Mr. Beck was a Soil Scientist for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency from 1979-1981 in Washington, DC; 1981-1984 in Las Vegas, NV and 1984-2006 in Ada, OK. He enjoyed walking, gardening and photography and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Frank is also survived by his sons, Joseph E. of Chehalis, WA and Daniel C. of Ada, OK; daughters, Stephanie E. Barr of League City, TX, Cheryl J. Carvajal of Bothell, WA, Amy S. Beck of College Station, TX, Leilani B. Beck and Mary D. Beck both of Chehalis, WA; four grandchildren, Stephanie Loyd and Alexander Barr both of League City, TX and Crystal and Brandon Carvajal both of Bothell, WA; four brothers; three sisters and his mother Jeannie M. Beck of Austin, TX. As Frank was an 80 gallon blood donor his family asks the any donations of money and/or blood be made to the Oklahoma Blood Institute or the American Red Cross.
