Obituary of Ardelle F. Bay

Ardelle F. Bay Ardelle passed away February 27, 2012 in Olympia, Washington at the age of 82. She was born to Roy and Elizabeth Gilbert on November 29, 1922 in Vaughn, Washington. She grew up in Gig Harbor, Washington, where she lived for 20 years. She graduated from Gig Harbor High School and Aquintas Nursing Academy in Tacoma, Washington. She married Harold Bay in 1949 in Olympia. Ardelle lived in Shelton, Washington for 13 years, Eugene, Oregon for three years, Juno, Alaska for two years, and Lacey, Washington for 47 years. She worked for Washington State Labor and Industries, retiring in 1991. Ardelle loved animals and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and sailing. She fought for justice for the underdogs everywhere she went. She was naïve in some areas of her life, but always loved to laugh at herself. She endeavored to emotionally support her children until death. She is survived by her sons, Michael Bay of Silverdale, Washington, and Ronald Bay of Olympia; daughter, Barbara Bay Baldwin of Olympia; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and sister, Beverly Gilbert of Seattle.
