Obituary of Naida L. Banker

None Naida Banker Our beloved Mother, Naida, 80, passed away January 25, 2012 at Providence St Peter Hospital. She was born August 16, 1931 to Eugene Stanton Willoughby and Hazel Anna Davis in Pierre, South Dakota. She graduated from Charlo High School, in 1947 Charlo, Montana. Naida received her Teaching Degree from St. Martin’s College in 1970. She taught third grade at Lincoln Elementary in Olympia for many years. Naida was married to Patrick Charles Berryessa February 18, 1951 and they had five children. She married Harry Grant Banker November 17, 1972 in Olympia. She enjoyed reading, basket weaving, gardening and feeding the wild birds. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Olympia. Surviving her are sons, Matthew Berryessa, Littlerock, WA and Brian Berryessa, Seattle, WA, daughters Michelle Berryessa, Roy, WA, Samantha Berryessa Cowart, Fallbrook, CA, Patrice Berryessa, Bonners Ferry, Idaho, stepdaughters, Barbara Moore, Lacey, WA, Joan Banker-Tate, Olympia, WA and Alice Jackson, Olympia, WA, her sister Connie Hendrickson, Superior, Montana, 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her half-brother Walter Dean Cottom, half-sister Beverly Dietz, step-daughter Kay Batten, grandson Benjamin Berryessa, granddaughter Lily Grace Berryessa and her husbands Patrick and Harry. Her children will remember her as a loving parent who remained a vital part of our lives. A private family remembrance will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Salvation Army.
