Obituary of Mary Condo Baccetti

Friends and family may pay their respects prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM MARY C. BACCETTI Mary C. Baccetti, 97, a longtime resident of West Seattle and Belfair, Washington, died Monday, August 28, 2006 at her home. Mrs. Baccetti was born January 10, 1909 in Chivasso, Italy to Joseph and Frances "Chicina" (Gaia) Condo. She was raised in the Seattle area and graduated from West Seattle High School. She married Luigi Baccetti in West Seattle in 1926. He died in 1979. While living in the Seattle area, Mary worked in shipping and receiving for Sears and Roebuck Company in downtown Seattle. Proficient in four languages, Mary corresponded and traded stamps with people from around the world. She began collecting stamps at the age of sixteen. She was an avid gardener. Flowers, vegetables and fruit gardening were a part of her Italian heritage and used to brighten her home and nourish her family. She loved the nature of the Hood Canal and would enjoy its beauty by taking long walks on the beaches. Mary showed dedication to her sons by participating in their events and activities. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother and later a Boy Scout Assistant. She enjoyed her Italian roots and reconnected with her family in Italy by traveling there many times. Survivors include one son, Louis J. Baccetti, Belfair; ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. A son, Robert A. Baccetti, a brother, Matthew Condo and two sisters, Rose Heckinkemper and Josie Heckinkemper preceded her in death.
