Hi Grandma Andren...I'm sad I didn't see you this past year as I had planned...you became ill and passed while I was in Hawaii:( I returned in part to see you off one last time...it's nice seeing what people wrote...like my sister Joelle says it was the little things I loved the most...I think I got b-day cards until my 30's...I watched the famaily video this past year and it was great hearing Grandma talk and tell our family stories...also something that was very important was she cared and did those little things for my daughter years ago...so thanks Grandma I love say hi to Grandpa and tell him how all us older grandkids remember the "mints".
Funny Story...Dad and I were moving some of Grandma's stuff...like her wardrobe box in my dad's truck and it flew out and cars were trying to avoid and my dad and I were damn near killed on I-90 that night...a few of Grandma's A's dresses didnt't fair so well...lol...literally a few of her gowns had tire skid marks across her chest...
I still use the knitted afghan she gave me in 1988 when I was married...thing is still in great shape long past my failed marriage...
RIP Grandma...thanks for the love and memories:) John

We love you Gramdma Andren. What I remember most about my Grandma is she never forgot to send us grandkids boxed Valentine cards or birthday cards with the occasional dollar or two. I still have the outfits/blankets tucked away that she knitted for me and my son. I will always treasure the little things she did to say she loved me. P.S. My husbands first visit and great memory while meeting Grandma was in Spokane a fews years ago. She "wheeled" out to the parking garage as we were leaving and in the rear view mirror all we could see was Grandma waving her arms with a huge smile on her face. It was presious!

Margaret and my Mother Ruth Patrick were good friends and both served as officers of the Emerson Grade School PTA during the 50's. I remember her organizing PTA carnivals and lining me up to preform magic tricks on the stage in the gym. Dennis Swartout

I remember Margaret as our babysitter in grade school days in our house on Gardner, and she lived on Buckeye with Grandma Moran. Then she married Virg and they palled around with the 'old folks'. I moved away in '51 and really didn't return until the late '80s. By then she was the last 'family' in town, and I always looked her up when I came up for the quarterly Gonzaga Engineering Board meetings. We did the whole nostalgia bit, seeing all the old haunts, visiting some we hadn't seen before, looking for houses, going to Rossland, and having a damn good time. She never once complained about taking a trip or hitting the road.

Aunt Margaret was such a great lady. When I moved to Spokane to go to Gonzaga, I didn't know anyone but Aunt Margaret. For the first few weeks I lived in Spokane, I leaned on Aunt Margaret and visited her often. Even though I was 20 years old and she was 70, I found her so much fun and I loved hanging out with her. But I'll never forget one day when she said "no". I asked if I could, again, join her for her Friday night bridge session with friends and she said "no". She told me I needed to find friends of my own. It was exactly what I needed. After that I flourished at Gonzaga and had the most wonderful experiences ... which I thank Aunt Margaret for in so many ways :)
Aunt Margaret was so unique. I loved hanging out with her and just listening. She had such rich life experiences ...
She will be missed by so many ...

Aunt Margaret was such a spirited and fun person. During our time in Spokane for school, my sister and I would often go visit “Auntie M” and would sit around chatting- I loved her stories, everything from tidbits of my dad growing up, to the tradition of her Cannon Beach trips over the years. And she’d tell us about all the household repairs and fix-its she’d done over the years (things that were typically “men’s work”); I was always so impressed with how handy she was.
With our parents down in California, it was really nice for my sister and I to have family in town, and Aunt Margaret would always invite us over and make us feel at home. She was a special lady and she will be missed. Rest in peace, Aunt Margaret.

Aunt Margaret lived a vibrant life, and was always cheerful in spite of any challenges. Blessings to Ginny, Marsha and Bob as you celebrate your mom's life and her passing. I wish we could come to Spokane on the 20th but a work commitment will keep us in Seattle. God bless you all. Love, Mary Ellen and Ken Talley

Throughout her life, Aunt Margaret was always someone very special in our family. From the memories of so many trips from Central Oregon and the Olympic Peninsula to Spokane Aunt Margaret always was the bright spot of our journey. Now she has a journey to join the many who have waited for her...let the celebration begin.
