Obituary of Keith Evans Anderson

Novisitation Keith Evans Anderson Keith Evans Anderson, 70, passed away at his home in Olympia, Washington on Friday, October 5, 2007 after a gallant fight with cancer. Keith is survived by Annette, his wife of almost 49 years; four children, Kim Wigfield (Roger) of Lacey, Kurt Anderson (Lynette) of Spokane, Kris Artis (Greg) of Spokane, and Kelli Eakle (Ty) of Redmond, Washington; eight wonderful grandchildren; a twin brother in Texas; a sister in Colorado; and a brother-in-law in Kansas. Keith was born on December 11, 1936 in Greeley, Colorado and grew up in Eaton, Colorado. He graduated in 1955 from Eaton High School and received his Masters degree in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines in January 1960. He and his family moved to Illinois where he began his career with Northern Illinois Gas Company and earned a Masters in Business Administration degree from Northern Illinois University in 1970. In 1973, Keith’s career took him and his family to Spokane where he worked for Washington Water Power and finally to Seattle where he retired in 1994 as President of Washington Energy Resources Company, an oil and gas exploration subsidiary of Washington Natural Gas (now Puget Sound Energy). He and Annette moved to Olympia where they began a second career traveling the country buying antiques for selling on eBay, at local antique malls, and at antique shows on the West Coast. Keith will be remembered for his love of the outdoors. He loved camping, boating, and fishing with his family. He was an avid walker and hiker and was often accompanied by his good friend, Tom Martin. He and Tom were part of “The Angels of Steamboat Island Road”, a group of people which began a litter pickup program in their neighborhood in Olympia. His hobbies included reading, traveling, antiquing, and tracking his investments. Keith was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be remembered with fondness and respect by all those who knew him. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family would like to thank all the nurses, doctors, and other people who cared for Keith at the Western Washington Oncology Center in Lacey, the Capital Medical Center of Olympia, and Providence Sound Home Care and Hospice. Special thanks go out to their closest friends, Tom and Judy Martin, and loving brother and uncle, Bob Willis of Wichita, Kansas. A private family service is being planned.
