Obituary of Dorothy Louise Anderson

Dorothy Louise Anderson Dorothy Louise Anderson passed away May 5, 2011, in Olympia, Washington. She was born October 7, 1921, in Banner, Wyoming, to George Robert and Carolyne “Carrie” (Oberbaugh) Smith. She was the youngest of her family of seven sisters and brothers. Dorothy attended a small grade school in Murphy Gulch, WY, where her older sister was teacher, and her transportation was by horseback. She moved into Sheridan, WY, to attend 8th grade, but had to return to the ranch when her father died and her mother needed help. Dorothy married Robert T. Anderson on August 1, 1942, in Shelton, WA, where they spent their early years together raising four children. They moved to Lacey, WA, in 1955. In later life, Dorothy lived at the St. Francis House and then The Sequoia. She is survived by her son, Dale (Kay) Anderson of Chandler, AZ; daughters, Roberta (Roger) Attwood of Rochester, WA; Lindsey (Johnny) Rodriguez of Lacey, WA; and Patricia Anderson (Rich Gihring) of Mesa, AZ, and Ocean Shores, WA; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
