Obituary of Erlene V. Allred

Erlene Allred, 81, longtime resident of Lakewood, WA, peacefully passed away at home on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, surrounded by her husband and family. Erlene was born July 4, 1928 in Monroe, Utah to Vincent and Verda Willardson. She attended school at Sweet Water High School in San Diego, CA and Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. On November 12, 1947, Erlene was married to Charles C. Allred in Mesa, Arizona. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.During her life Erlene worked as a Domestic Engineer. She also obtained a University of Washington Master Gardener Certification, served as a Seattle Temple Worker, worked for LDS Social Services, belonged to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers – Camp and Company President, PTA President, served as a Relief Society President 5 times, Church Librarian, Primary Teacher, Teacher Development Teacher and Boy Scout Leader. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, decorating for weddings, painting, music and politics. Surviving Erlene are her husband Charles; Son, Grant Allred; daughters, Charlene Haslam and Pauline Gielisch; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Ray Willardson; and her sister, Carma Nuttal.
