Obituary of Mary Louise Albaugh

Mary Louise Forbes Albaugh passed away on Sunday morning August 9th at the Lodge at Roo Lan, an assisted living facility, in Lacey Washington. She was the sister of Fr. Wayne Forbes, pastor of St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Portland. Mary Louise was born on May 15, 1930 in Ventura California. She attended Holy Cross Grade School and St. Catherine’s Academy in Ventura and the University of California at Santa Barbara. She entered the Women Army and served both at the Presidio in San Francisco and at the Army Base in Heidelberg, Germany. Mary Louise was for some years a discalced Carmelite Nun at the Convents in Sacramento, California and Salt Lake City Utah. Upon being dispensed from her vows she worked for some time in Los Angeles as an executive secretary for a number of firms including the ALS Foundation. She married Dennis Albaugh and resided in Woodland Hills until they moved to Olympia Washington in 1990 and had a home on Hood’s Canal. Dennis died in 1999. Mary Louise’s parents Harry and Bernice Forbes also predeceased her. Harry in 1988 and Bernice in 2004. In addition to her brother, Wayne, Mary Louise is survived by several cousins in California.
