Obituary of Roger Young

Roger passed away peacefully on June 24, 2014 at RooLan Nursing Home in Lacey, Washington. Roger was born at Norfolk, Virginia on May 27, 1942 to Frank and Beatrice Young. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Vivian, Cecelia and Wanda. He spent 29 years in the U.S. Army, retiring in 1991 at which time Roger went to work for U.P.S. Tumwater, and Capital High School in Olympia. During this time, he also studied at South Puget Sound College, receiving his AA degree. Roger enjoyed many years playing golf and also was in several bowling leagues. Surviving are his wife, Irene; daughter, Amber Holt (Jarett) of Lacey; sons, Michael, Kenneth; daughters, Paige and Angie; brothers and sisters, Andrew, Frankie, Donald, Herb, Margaret, Glen, Bernie, Norma, Lyle and Alvin; grandchildren, Solaeya, Luna, Jacob; and eight other grandchildren; and a host of other family. He will be sadly missed. Oh that great smile! Family suggests memorial donations may be made to the Dementia Foundation.
