Obituary of Janet L. Winters

Janet Winters was born in Spokane, Washington, November 9, 1948, to Doris and Kenneth Loffler. She passed away June 20, 2014, in Olympia, Washington. Janet was a resident of Spokane (1948-1956), Davenport (1956-1965), Olympia (1965-1999) and Shelton (1999-2014), Washington. Janet graduated from Olympia High School in 1967. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from The Evergreen State College in 2007 at the age of 58. She spent her life taking care of her family. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She could spend hours talking about them with anyone who would listen. Janet enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading, spending time at the beach and with her animals. Anyone who knew her knew that she would always have wintergreen lifesavers either in her pocket or in her purse. Janet was always laughing and loved to spend time talking with people. She had little to give but was always willing to share what she had. Janet is survived by her son, Brian Winters of Satsop, Washington; daughter, Cheryl Baker of Elma, Washington; and brothers, Donald Loffler of Olympia, and Robert Loffler of Tri-Cities, Washington. She has four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris (LaRose) Loffler and Kenneth Loffler; brother, Jim Loffler; and granddaughter, Brianna Winters.
