Obituary of Gerald Wilber

Jerry, 78, passed away on August 26, 2013 in Olympia, Washington. He was born to Harry and Alice (Palmer) Wilber on May 3, 1935, in Nicholson, Pennsylvania. In October 1957, Jerry married Barbara M. Richardson in Montrose, Pennsylvania, who preceded him in death on August 9, 2007. Together, they raised four daughters. In the late 1970’s, the family moved to the Auburn area. Jerry was a machinist in the aerospace field. He worked for the Boeing Company until September 1999, where he worked for over 30 years. Jerry loved collecting Budweiser beer steins (even though he did not drink beer), and collecting miniature tractors. He enjoyed camping with the camper club, mowing various lawns for family and friends, and traveling. In later years, he volunteered at the White River Museum. Jerry was a 30 + year member of the Washington State Grange, member of the Washington State Draft Horse and Mule Association for many years, and a member of the Washington State Grange Camper Association. Jerry was a loving and caring man. His family came first. He loved to give hugs and was known as Papa Jerry to many adopted kids. He always had a smile and was very slow to anger. He enjoyed family and friends and storytelling. He loved spending time with his grand kids. The family would appreciate Memorial Donations to the Washington State Grange Foundation Fund. Jerry is survived by his living partner, Diane Williams; his four daughters Cindy Wilber of Kent WA, Debbie Wilber of Marysville WA, Pam (Verne) Figg of Kent WA, and Tami Wilber of Auburn WA; his siblings David (Luella) Wilber of Berrien Center MI, and Joan (Tom) Flynn of Punta Gorda FL, 5 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Our dad was a wonderful man and he enriched every life he touched. We will miss you daddy and we know that you are with mom the woman who you were meant to be with. We will all be together again someday. See you later. We love and miss you both. Please sign the Guestbook below and leave condolences and memories for the family.
