Obituary of June Smith Ware
June Smith Ware passed away on January 19, 2016 in Olympia, Washington, where she had lived since 1946. June was born in Oklahoma in 1926, the youngest of eight children. After losing her parents, she went to live with her sister in California where she met her husband, Carlun.
June is survived by two children, Karen and Terry; grandchildren; a great grandson; nieces and nephews. Her husband and son, Michael, predeceased her.
June’s interests were children, helping others, her garden, and her pets. Among other things, she volunteered as a “lunch buddy” for troubled kids at grade school until her early eighties. She was involved in all school activities for her children and great grandson.
June “followed” her children through school by first working as a cook at a grade school, then working in the school district as a secretary. She then worked for a doctor and later retired from state government. She enjoyed traveling around the country by motor home, visiting relatives and friends.
