Daddy, I am standing by the waters edge. A fishing boat at my side sails into the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean, he is an object of strength, I stand and watch until at last he is a speck of white cloud just where the sun and sky come down to meet each other. Then someone standing beside me says:_”There he goes”. Gone where? Gone from my sight_ that is all. He is just as large in beauty & strength as he was when he left my side and just as able to bear his load of living freight to the places of destination. His diminished size is in the eye of the one looking on, not in him. Just at the moment when someone standing beside me says:_ “There he goes!”,There are other eyes watching him come to shore, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout:_ “Here He Comes!” Daddy you are greatly missed, but your ability to instill manners, etiquette, and most of all Love in your children has been a strong force behind who we are today.I will always remember how you lovingly corrected me on the proper way to eat a french dip sandwich, don’t dunk the whole thing at once, but one bite at a time.( Boy was I a mess.)lol. I will see you once again for The Bible says,” When we are absent from the body,we are present with the Lord”. Say hello to my mommy, and give her a kiss for me.

Grandpa, I am sad that I was not in your life as much as I would have liked to been. The memories I have of you portray a strong, loving, gentle man. One who I was always proud to say “that’s my Grandpa”.. I am glad we are linked forever by family. Losing you has made me vow to not let a moment go by to say “I Love You” to each & every one of our family members. I pray that when you left, you went with Jesus. He’s a bit tougher than you.. lol…and when I am so fortunate as to be called home.. you will be one of the first that I hug… I love you Grandpa.

You were always bigger than life. All my friends wanted you for their dad, but I was the lucky one to have been chosen to be your daughter. Tammy always said you could leap tall buildings and outrun a speeding bullit, and she was right. I miss you every day. The house is so sad and lonely without you. I love you dad , Vickie
