Obituary of Dorothy May Steele

Dorothy was born May 9, 1928, to Delmer and Sadie (Montgail) Jewell in Yelm, Washington. She passed away March 31, 2014 in Olympia, Washington, at the age of 85. A graduate of Rainier High School, Dorothy enjoyed walking, clamming and doing yard work. She married Frank Steele on May 13, 1959, in Elnora, Indiana. Dorothy lived in Olympia for more than 50 years. She worked as a food server at the Spar Restaurant for 20 years in the mid-‘60s to mid-‘80s, where she was fondly known as “Dottie.” She is survived by sons, Calvin A. Ritter, Andrew D. Ritter and Roger L. Steele; daughters, Doreen Adam and Deanna K. Steele; seven grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; and sister, Delores Stewart. She will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their exceptional care of Dorothy in her final days.
