Obituary of Edith Alice Sowray

At the age of 100 years and one month, Alice Sowray died peacefully at Olympia Manor under Providence Hospice care after suffering a series of seizures over the previous eleven days. She was predeceased by her husband, Rex; her four sisters, Annie, Olive, Dorothy and Phoebe; and also her son, Peter. She is survived by her daughter, Gwendoline Sowray; grandchildren, Darren, Wayne and Gabrielle England, Charlotte Mitchell; four great grandchildren, Harry and Aelis England of Aurora, OR, and Nigel and Amira El-Sokkary of Olympia, WA; and by her brother, Herbert Strain of Chorley, England. A private cremation ceremony was held. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Ikebana International with which Alice was affiliated for more than half her life, or to Providence Hospice of Olympia.
