Obituary of Lois L. Sokolik

Lois L. Sokolik Lois Sokolik, 83, passed away of natural causes on December 30, 2014, in Olympia, Washington, her home for the last 60 years. She was born January 1, 1931, in Walla Walla, Washington. She graduated from Yelm High School, and married Joseph H. Sokolik on January 15, 1949 in Yelm, Washington. Lois was a homemaker and mobile home pilot car driver. She worked at the Thurston County Fair Arts and Crafts Barn, which was named after her and Joe, and spent many holiday seasons working at Sharp’s Christmas House. She loved sewing, canning and baking, and was an avid pinochle player, and a fan of Olympia Bears Football and Mariners Baseball. Lois belonged to the First United Methodist Church, Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, Moose Lodge, PTA, Olympia Little League Baseball, Children’s Orthopedic Hospital Guild, and Olympia Preschool Co-Op. Lois is survived by her sons, Joseph Lee Sokolik, William Bruce Sokolik, Timothy John Sokolik, and Thomas Roy Sokolik, all of Olympia; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph H. Sokolik; and daughter, Lois E. “Osie” Blake. Service Information:

Services are scheduled for Friday, January 23, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at the VFW, 2902 Martin Way, Olympia, WA. A potluck reception will follow. Please feel free to bring a side dish or salad.
