Donald Smith

Obituary of Donald J. Smith

Don was born on April 4, 1957 to Wilbur “Will” and Bertha Smith in Olympia, Washington. He grew up in Olympia, graduating in 1975 from North Thurston High School. He was involved with Boy Scouts and the Civil Air Patrol from 1970 to 1974. His hobbies were astrology, hiking, and camping. After graduation, he worked for his stepfather’s business, Wilson Refrigeration Service, Inc. He was very intelligent and had a good working knowledge of computers that he picked up on his own. Don was a quiet man with a gentle spirit. He easily made friends everywhere he went and had a ready smile for everyone. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone whoneeded it. Even in the later years with his physical infirmities, he always had a positive spirit and a good word. We take great comfort in the fact that, the second he passed, he was with Jesus. Don is survived by his stepfather, Bill Wilson; stepmother, Linda Smith; one son, Christopher Smith (Shawna); four brothers, Gary (Paula), David (Marie), James, and Richard (Shirly) Smith. He was preceded in death by his father, Will Smith; his mother, Bertha Wilson; and son, Daniel (Jessica) Smith. Please leave memories of Don or condolences for his family in the Guestbook below.
