Donald Seward

Obituary of Donald Raymond Seward

Don was born on April 4, 1953 to Walter F and Ruth L (Huber) Seward in Dayton, Ohio. He passed away on February 28, 2014 in Centralia, Washington after a long battle with cancer. He was a man of many names. To his Mother, he was Goonie; he was Pops to his sons; to Jack, he was Crazy; for Bud, he was Roger; to Beth, he was Ray; his sister called him Donnie; but to most, he was Don. Most of all, he was Papa Oouwhat. Don grew up in Olympia, Washington attending Garfield Elementary, Jefferson Junior High and Olympia High School. Don lived in many places through his work, but settled his family in Olympia, WA. He married the love of his life, Debbie Hogan in 1972. From this union came three sons; Brandon Seward of Rochester, Washington, Dustin Seward of Olympia, Washington and Wyatt Seward of Tenino, Washington. Don was a family man, and was known to give the shirt off his back. Don worked as a logger with helicopter logging as a choker setter with Tru-Tress. He also did carpentry work as a union worker and at Harold’s Glass. He enjoyed making things with barn wood, reading Louie Lamar, attending family gatherings, going camping with friends and family, hugging his Mom and grandchildren…and scratching Katie and Willow with his canes. Don was preceded in death by Pappy, Toots, Connie, and April May. He leaves behind his mother, Ruth; his wife, Debbie; sons, Brandon (Denise), Dustin, and Wyatt (Latisha); sisters, Skeeter, and Karleen; brothers, Jack (Rhodetta), Bud (Beth), Dale (Gena), Pete (Venice), and Scott; grandchildren, Samantha, Kayla, Trenton, Taylor, David, Brooklynn, Wyatt, and Tanner.
