Sorry to hear of my dear friends passing. We were friends at DSHS in Pasco. She and her daughter were dear sweet people. I only wish I’d spoke with her over these years.

What a lovely picture of a lovely lady!! We will forever remember her beautiful smile, the kind, gentle way she treated everyone and the love she had for her family and you, Jim. Willene is at peace now with her Savior…..and what comfort that must be for you all.

I met Willene when we both worked for DSHS in Pasco. She was truly a professional. Her devotion to her daughter was incredible. Her life truly revolved around Teresa (Michelle). When she met Jim, who I believe was working in Walla Walla at the time, Willene’s journey to him was a time of growth and introspection. Rest in peace, Willene, knowing that you touched many lives. To her family, the world was a better place because of her. Her legacy will live on through you.

I am so sorry to hear of Willenes passing. I was her hair dresser for many years. She was a very special woman who deeply loved and always looked forward to spending time with her family. She would always tell stories of the adventures she had with Jim and raising her daughter. She absolutely adored her grandchildren, and always looked forward to seeing them. Rest in Peace Willene. xoxo

To Willene’s Family: We were so sad to hear of Willene’s illness and passing. We pray you will find a way to get through this and remember all the good times you shared. We did not know her husband, but, we worked with Willene in Yakima at the 5th Ave DSHS building… and I took care of her daughter Teresa many years ago. God Bless each of you.
Sincerely,
Karen and Lyle Collins

Willene was one of those rare, forthright and kind persons – one you can’t help but love. What a joy to be in her presence, to hear her chuckle and see her smile. She taught me a great deal and I am forever thankful. There’s one less twinkle in the sparkling fabric of mankind. Farewell, Willene. Your glimmer will remain in my memory and replace my grief. I will miss you.

Willene and I met in Olympia in 1970, and the fun began there. We were single working mothers, and we managed to go out one night a month. We talked, laughed and loved our children so much. So the one night a month was extra special for us. The struggles, the empty pocketbooks, trying to make it to the end of the month. Willene was great managing her books and was always excited to see the first of the month. We both met the love of our lives and went our ways, but always managed to see each other and talk, talk and talk. Yes, and our talks when she was struggling with breast cancer She was a very strong lady and a wonderful friend. I will miss my dear buddy, she loved her family very much and was blessed to have Jim in her life, he was her rock. Until we meet again. Love you.
