What a great neighbor Gary was to us. He was always there to lend a hand, here our troubles or share a story. He was one of those men, gracious, humorous and always willing to help someone in need. May God bless him with eternal happiness.

I have known Gary since 1953 and have always considered him to be one of the really fine people I have ever met. Seeing him at the WV 57 reunions was always a pleasure and I will ever remember the optimism and dignity he showed in the face of adversity.

It is hard to believe it has been 19 years since you and Gary came into our lives. You were amazing friends/ neighbors to us when we were just beginning our family. My kids still remember Gary’s concrete figurines. All 3 of my children have used the wooden step stool that Gary made and we are saving it for our grandkids some day. What a truly special man Gary was. We are so thankful for the positive influence you both have been in our lives as we were beginning our family.

Lorraine, you and Gary were such wonderful neighbors all those years! We still remember the time you visited us at our new home – we knew it wasn’t easy for Gary to get around, but you two always made an effort for others. May God be with you during this time of loss. May you always have the wonderful memories of your years together.

Gary and I crossed paths many times over our many years together at Puget. His ready smile and easy nature always made our working together a pleasure. I probably remember most the many after hours Puget or community functions. Lorraine was always by his side and I can’t think of one without the other. Linda and I have many fond memories of you both.

I’m sorry to hear of Gary’s passing. I just met him in recent months, once at a retiree lunch and at the retirement of Gary Beasley. He offered me much counsel about Thurston county and Puget. I felt I’d known him forever and he reminded me of my dad. Condolences to his family and hope fond memories carry you at this time.

I worked with Gary in the Puyallup Puget office when we converted it to the call center in July 1976 until I left to return to Bellevue in 1980. We seemed to click during our years working together and we and our spouses enjoyed time together also. Gary use to kid me about not even being able to keep plastic flowers alive, that was Gary and I became very fond of him. We continued after our retirements with e-mails and all of us meeting for lunch at times, he was one of a kind.

Gary and Lorraine have been neighbors of ours in two different neighborhoods for the past 21 years. We have enjoyed many wonderful dinners together and worked on many home fix-it projects together. I have always enjoyed Gary’s sense of humor and his quick wit. He was very good at ribbing Lorraine and getting her worked up about his next purchase or home project. It was obvious they were very much in tune with each other. Gary will definitely be missed!

We have known Gary & Lorraine for 21 years & it has been our pleasure to know them as neighbors & friends. Gary was very kind & helpful to my son when he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a teenager. Gary took the time to come over & give advise, calm fears & be there for him. I will always be grateful to him. He will be missed.
