Obituary of Mardelle Paulsen

Mardelle E. Paulsen, 82, was born in Chicago, Illinois, April 6, 1931 to Joseph and Helen Weiss. She attended Evenger Grade School where she was promoted two half grades and finished grade school at age twelve. She also attended Taft High School which she finished at age sixteen. She was a gifted student. This allowed her to study at Chicago Art Institute for six years during her grade school and High school years. She then attended Wright Junior College where she graduated with her associate’s degree. Mom loved the Lord first and her church, her husband and her children, also all her family, friends and neighbors. She loved helping and being involved in the church with the many activities she took part in with all the guilds. She also enjoyed painting and writing her poems. They are truly works of art. She was always thankful for all her gifts and talents form God. She is survived by her brothers Jerry Weiss and Joseph Weiss; sons, Gary John Paulsen , Gregory Joseph Paulsen, John William Paulsen; daughter, Mary H Paulsen-Szepski; 5 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by infant son James Scott Paulsen; Melvin Robert Paulsen; and her parents Joseph and Helen Weiss. The family suggests memorial donations to Mardelle’s favorite charity, Boys Town, 14100 Crawford St., Boys Town, NE 68010
