Obituary of Maxine Palermo

Maxine Palermo passed away October 10, 2014 in Issaquah, Washington, at the age of 93. She was born January 12, 1921 to William and Rose (Garreau) Palms in Seattle, Washington. Maxine lived in Olympia, Washington, for most of her life. She moved to Issaquah in the mid-1980s to be closer to her daughter and family. In May of 2013, Maxine moved to Westley Homes in Des Moines, Washington. Maxine loved life and lived a full and vibrant one. She loved to sew, knit, crochet, needlepoint, embroidery, and paint ceramics; in general, she liked to keep her hands busy. She also loved to travel, dance, listen to music, entertain, cook, golf, bowl, play cards, garden, boat and fish. She was a past member of the America Legion, Elks and Moose. There wasn’t much Maxine didn’t enjoy in life. Her 93 years leave us with a legacy of dedication to family, tradition, a giving heart, and unconditional love for those she cared about. She is survived by her daughter, Angela Hawk of Preston, Washington; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Angelo Palermo, on September 1, 1969.
