Linda passed away November 6, 2013 at the age of 66. She was born in Olympia, Washington on March 26, 1947 to Roberta and Russell Ojard. She attended Garfield Elementary, Jefferson Junior High, Olympia High School, and Olympia Technical College. She worked at several state agencies in the course of her career, retiring in 2011 from the Employment Security Department where she developed many lasting friendships. Linda was truly creative and artistic. She filled her days with photography, drawing, writing science fiction, and creating beautiful crocheted and embroidered pieces that we all treasure. She influenced and inspired us all with her love of great music, having amazing times and experience at the forefront of rock and roll. She was a talented gardener and loved planting and tending her flowers and vegetables in the spring and summer. In recent years, Linda also developed gourmet cooking skills, adding to her other accomplishments. But her favorite recipes were those she learned from Mom and Grandma. Beyond all else, Linda loved her family. She is survived by brothers, Marty Ojard, Steve (Julia) Ojard; sister, Carol Nunn; niece, Jenny (Ben) Power; nephews, Chad and Alec Ojard; great niece and nephew, Jessica and Max Power; aunts and uncles, Jessie Chamberlain, Edith and Marvin Cobb, and Maggie Chamberlain, Charlene Chamberlain; and many cousins. She was preceeded in death by her parents; grandparents; uncles, Bud and Jerry Chamberlain and Maurice and Gerald Ojard; and aunt, Carol Bush. Although she suffered greatly for more than 30 years from Crohn’s disease, Linda was a fighter. She had an indomitable spirit, loved life, and never gave up. She lives on as an inspiration to us all.
