Obituary of Steve Wayne Nolan

Steve Wayne Nolan Steve Wayne Nolan, 38, was the firstborn son to Jerry Wayne Nolan and Susan Kay Kelley Nolan on January 14, 1975 in Longview, Washington. He fought a short but brave battle with Lung Cancer, grew his wings and went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2013 in Olympia, Washington. A Memorial is set for June 29, 2013 at the Central Park Neighborhood Church located at 7010 Bryrwood, off Hwy 12 in Aberdeen, Washington at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Steve Gaffney will officiate. Steve was raised during his formative years in Kelso, Washington by his mother, and later moved to Grays Harbor to be raised by his father, along with his two younger brothers, Matthew and Chad. They moved to the Wishkah area in Hoquiam in 1989 where Steve played football and graduated from the Wishkah School in 1993. After graduation, Steve moved back to the Longview area where he met and married Anna Durns in 2008. He and Anna had three children together, Nathaniel (age 5), Amelia (age 4), and Preston (age 2) who now reside with Steve’s youngest brother Chad and his wife Katie. Steve had most recently completed a Truck Driver Training Program and had accomplished getting his official CDL. Unfortunately, he was never able to take advantage of his hard earned training due to his unexpected diagnosis. During his training he hauled goods and commodities to nearly every state. Steve enjoyed being a Dad. In fact, his whole life was centered on being with his children and doing activities with them. Steve was a quiet and reserved man with a kind and gentle spirit. In addition to his three children, Nathaniel, Amelia and Preston, Steve is survived by his parents, Jerry Wayne Nolan of Hoquiam and Susan Kay Kelley of Kelso, and his two brothers, Matthew James of Kelso and Chad Alan of Olympia. He leaves behind his paternal grandparents, Ivan and Viola Nolan of Central Park; his Aunt Linda Bodine of Olympia, and Aunt Nancy and Uncle Roy of Kelso; cousins, Dana Connally of Olympia, Lee Ann, Eric ,Terri and Tom all of Cowlitz County, and Jennifer, Wendy and Christina all of Grays Harbor; along with a number of 2nd cousins who loved him dearly. Preceding Steve in death are his maternal grandparents, Alfred and Delores Kelley; and Uncles, Randy and Larry Nolan. All donations will be placed in trust accounts for Steve’s three children.
