Ted Maxin

Obituary of Ted A. Maxin

He was commonly known as Ted, fondly known as Teddy Bear, renowned for decades as “The Bear.” To the fortunate few he called family, he was unconditionally loved. He was a Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Brother and to many, considered a companion, mentor, advisor and confidant. He was always there for his family with a loving heart and a shoulder to lean on. He was a great man who gave effortlessly, a wonderful, loyal husband, and a giving and supportive, if not the best, dad. Friend to all who knew him, always there, for neighbors and strangers. Willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it and whenever it was needed. Ted’s heart was always open as were his shop and tools always available to help build and repair lives and a few cars in the process. Ted’s presence in his shop or at the East Olympia train tracks with his red Chevy will be sorely missed. The circle of life is a beautiful thing and the fact that we were lucky enough to be in Teddy Bear’s circle is one of the greatest gifts we were blessed to receive. Ted was surrounded by loving family as he received his pass and headed for his train ride to Heaven. The loss of Ted will leave a void in all of our hearts and the grief of his passing is much greater than words can express. He leaves behind his wife, Karen; his five kids, David, Robert, Kayla, Cherokee and Tami; five grandsons, Dane, Chase, Dakota, Kolton and Josh; a half-sister, Cathy Siefert (Larry); and two stepsisters and their mother. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Lillian Maxin. Please leave memories of Ted or condolences for his family in the Guestbook below.
