I always appreciated you accepting me into your family. You showed me love, because of your love for your daughter, Julie. You were a great Father-In-Law. I valued the opportunity to help and share your life memories. It was an Honor. You were an Honest, Respectful, Kind and Loving Man. You set a example for me as what a QUALITY MAN was suppose to be. Thanks for all your LOVE. I will miss you. Rick.

My wife and I have been neighbors of Bill and Betty for many years. Bill and I spent a lot of time solving the worlds problems and sharing a joke or two. When we were out working in our yards he always had time to talk. He had a great sense of humor. I’ll miss him. Blessings on all the family.

Bill was a special and loving man and great friend to us. We shared many good times with him and his family over the past 55 years. One memory that stands out, was the 4th of July, 1960, when Bill and Dick launched a rocket into our neighbor’s wooded back pasture and spent the rest of the evening looking for smoke or a fire. Another, was a trip our families took to the Metolius River in 1964 where Bill dunked our daughter, Therese, age 4, in the icy cold water till she was blue but she never stopped laughing. There are so many wonderful memories, but the last most memorable was a six week trip across the US, visiting president’s homes, civil war sites, Fort Monroe, VA where Bill lived as a youngster. We heard many tales of his mischievous youth while there.
We loved Bill’s humor, pessimistic or optimistic and feel so fortunate to have known him. Bill was a true friend and confidant and we will miss him terribly.

Bill moves on to help prepare a place for us to join him. Escorted by loving angels, he joins family members who preceded him for a warm, joyful reunion. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you as you prepare to say goodbye. Bill was a wonderful man, a great neighbor, a loving husband, father and grandfather. We treasure the memories of the many years we lived next door. Best wishes during this difficult time.

Uncle Bill was the best kind of Uncle, the one you get to pick for yourself. I remember Uncle Bill was quick to tease, he was always up to mischief and then his big booming belly laugh when his prank was revealed. He built huge Fall bonfires – how did he not burn down the orchard? And it seems, to the child I once was, that winter always offered snow and our families would build snowmen, throw snowballs then sled down the path between our houses, Uncle Bill using a shovel to “steer” his sled. Aunt Betty, Missy, Julie, Paul and Megan; I am so sincerely sorry for your loss, I wish you comfort in your memories. Love to all of you, Cindy

Bill will be missed by our family. Bill and Betty were some of my parent’s (Dorothy & Harry) favorites to visit. Bill had a terrific sense of humor and wonderful laughter. The Luce Family is in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless You!
