Obituary of Napoleon J. Lucchini

Napoleon J. “Nap” Lucchini, Jr., 72, passed away due to arteriosclerotic cardiac arrhythmia on May 4, 2014 at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, Washington. He was born April 21, 1942 to Napoleon J. and Bertha (Charest) Lucchini Sr. in Meriden, Connecticut. Nap was drafted into the US Army in the late 1960s, and served his time as a drill sergeant at Fort Lewis, Washington. He received a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University, a master’s degree from the University of Michigan, and was a certified public accountant (CPA). He married Kimber Leah Allen on August 27, 1994, in Lacey, Washington. Nap was a dedicated professor, instructor, and teacher of accounting. He first began teaching at the University of Washington while he was preparing to take the CPA exam. He also taught at Western Washington University in the early years. He was employed over the last 35 years as an instructor of accounting at South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC). He was a member of Northwest Accounting Educators, and Washington Association of CPAs. Nap was a loving stepfather, devoted grandfather, and the best of the best husband anyone could ever be blessed with. He enjoyed boating, bird watching, reading (especially books about horse racing and Alaska), fishing, kayaking, rugby, traveling, and going to the Mariner’s baseball games. He also was a member of Saint Michael Parish Catholic Church in Olympia. He is survived by his wife, Kim of Olympia; daughter, Nichole Michele Routley Strohm of Bothell, Washington; granddaughter, Hannah; and sisters, Celeste Lucchini of Bozrah, Connecticut, and Connie Wilkinson of Meriden, Connecticut. Nap will be buried in Meriden in their family plot with his parents, uncles and family members who pass in the future.
