Obituary of Ivy Eleanor Lucas

Ivy Eleanor Lucas passed away peacefully on July 16, 2014 in Lacey, Washington. She was born November 10, 1919 to Henry Walter and Ida May (Schwendemann) Cain in Brainard, Minnesota. She attended college in Vancouver, Washington and earned a degree in nursing, a profession she practiced for many years. Ivy loved gardening, cooking, traveling and reading. She was a lifelong Christian and member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lacey. She loved Olympia, her home since 1939. She is survived by her son, Leonard Lucas of Fairbanks, Alaska; her daughter, Lois Lucas of Lacey; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; brother, Don Cain of Medford, Oregon; sisters, Mardelle McManaman of Monmouth, Oregon, and Lois Herbig of Missoula, Montana. She was predeceased by her parents; son, Major General Dale Lucas; brothers, Darrell Cain, Lloyd Cain, Lyle Cain, Leslie Cain, and Myron Cain; and sisters, Ethel Rutherford, Doris Whitmarsh, and Evelyn Greenland.
