Dearest Melva,
My thoughts are with you. We loved Maurice at the clubhouse. He brought us many smiles with his helpful manner and dry wit. Bless you all.

Dearest Melva and family,
It is a very sad occasion for all, as it concerns us naturally & spiritually. We will all miss Maurice. He was such a kind and helpful man. We have enjoyed visiting both of you, every time we came to Washington. The entire family, from 1959, has been special, and most helpful. We love you all. Our deepest sympathy. Maurice is now enjoying what he loved best. His memories will comfort you. Thanks for the privilege of knowing you. ” So long Maurice”

Dear Melva, Laureen and Dan,
It has been a long time since we visited and a lot of the reasons is because of being out of state. I re-married after my husband, Carl, passed away and lived in Utah for 10 years. I only recently returned to Olympia and I would like to visit with you again. Mary Kathleen still lives in Utah, but when she comes for a visit, she and I will call to see you. Please accept my deepest sympathy at this time. Although I didn’t know Maurice very well, I know he was a great man and that feeling has been augmented by reading the other notes from friends. God bless and keep you and I pray that each day will make your sorrow lighter and easier to bear.

He was the first person to introduce me to bow hunting and I’m still at it at 63….thanks old friend.

Dearest Melva, Dan, and Laureen,
I am with each of you in my heart and thoughts and send my deepest sympathy.
Ever since I heard of Maurice’s passing, hymn #276 has been in my mind, especially the last part of the first verse, “Joy and sorrow interwoven, Love in all I see” – those words are such a comfort to us in the time of loss as we are thankful for a faithful life lived and example given when there is rest for that soul, but we have sorrow for the loss of the one that we loved so dearly. We also feel the love of others as they gather to honor that life and we can trust in the One that Loves us most of all that even in dark experiences He is by our side..
I was so glad to see Maurice at a distance at Oly 1 but sorry that I did not get to speak to him. I didn’t realize how short his time was going to be but thankful that he can now know that final rest.
I have such wonderful memories of years gone by even of the times I loved sharing with Maurice’s Mother.
I will be with you in heart on Saturday and send my thoughts and care to you.
Love,
Margie

Dear Laureen, Dan and Melva: Mom shared with me that you had called the other day. Unfortunately she didn’t quite understand the message so I have been watching the internet and found this entry. Mom and I send our condolences and prayers of comfort to each of you. May you find comfort in the love of friends and family and God’s peace in the days ahead.

Dear Melva, Laureen, and Dan,
Well, day is over and the sun has set for our good friend….you were all such a support to me, my year in the Olympia field…and I really connected with your Dad then. One of my best memories was how he listened in the Gospel meetings…to this poor, stuttering young woman! I played a trick on him that year and that connected us for years! He’d bring it up just about every time I saw him! I know that there has been a lot of love in your family and the God you know will send you comfort now…and a new appreciation for Heavan. Love, marge major

My good friend, Glen Williams from Australia, sent me this link for
the death of our friend in WA. I so well remember being in that
home in their prime of life days. Laureen was a sweet pretty young
worker, and Dan was new to the Harvest Freld.
I was so disappointed not to have the health to remain in WA, and
in returning to MN, my home area, I am making my home with
Roy Droel in Mpls/St Paul area…we were married 21 years ago.
Thinking of you with heartfelt sympathy in this great loss.

My heart continues to go out to the Lovely Loving Lawty Crew in the loss of such a dear one. How thankful I feel for the special honor of knowing all of you, and all the kindness you have extended my way too. So many fond memories I have of your dear Hubby & Dad. The most recent was my very precious visit I had with him right after Olympia Convention. He was so alert, and laughing and smiling! ☺ I thanked him for raising such a special son & daughter. I was sharing with him the gratitude I felt for all the care from so many friends I have received through the years and that Convention was like a family reunion for me. He said so sweetly “You feel that way Jeanne because we DO love eachother like family”. So true, so true……..and how thankful I feel for our dear Maurice, and ALL of you! My love & appreciation to you all. So Sincerely, Jeanne Wayerski

Thinking of you all and know you too will be thankful for the wonderful father, husband and friend that he was. You will miss him so much. THankful to have known him and you all.

A fond memory that goes back as far as I can remember, is watching your Dad work to get the electrical systems set up in the meeting tent at Olympia convention and then monitoring the operations of the PA system. He was quiet and faithful and there was no doubt about what was most important in his life — then or now. I’m thankful for those memories and know that God will stand by each of you in your loss and strengthen you for the future. Sending care and love to you Melva, Laureen and Dan.

It is with gladness in our hearts that we knew Maurice for a number of years and can truly say he was always positive and a friend to many! The joy in his spirit was always encouraging to see and feel, and he will always be remembered in our hearts for what he loved and shared through our common Faith in the simple Way of Jesus. It’s inspiring to see the finishing days encouraging to us all. Our thoughts of comfort and peace be with you, Melva, Dan, and Laurieen, who share the loss the greatest.
