Oh how I adored your parents! I met them at the credit union I worked at and loved it when they came in. They always brought me a little something from the places they traveled to. So special. Two of the kindest people I have had the pleasure to know. I will never forget them!

Dave was a great husband, father and friend. He treated his daughter-in-law (my daughter) as one of his own and I loved him for that. We shared laughs and good times and, though I didn’t see him often lately, I will miss just knowing he was available if I wanted to call him. I know it was hard for him after Lorraine passed; now they are together heading for new adventures.

Thanks for telling me about the obituary Jerry. It made me stop and think about the times we had together. I know he is happy to be with your mom, but I miss him. I never would have thought he would turn into one of my best friends as we got older, he was sure a pain in the neck when we were kids.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful life with all of us. Your Mom and Dad are the best……I love them both with all my heart and miss them so much. I phoned Dave a couple times after Lorraine passed and he was upbeat and led me to believe he was ok. We had a wonderful time with them going to Sedona, staying at an ROD park, visiting the Grand Canyon. Lorraine managed the kitchen and David was our tour guide. Flag Staff was snowed in so we entered this beautiful land by crossing over a tall hill west of Camp Verde. It was a spectacular trip….mostly because of Dave and Lorraine. I’ll never forget it or camping trips where Dave, Skip and Dick built fires and all three kicked them to keep them going. French fries from the place In Randall where they sliced them, dirt and all and dumped them in the fryer. So many good times with family and true friends. Dave was always smiling and fun to be with. Told you my sister was smart. Love you.

Jerry, Dodie, Sharon, Ilene and Amy What a beautiful story. Your Dad and Mom (Papa Dave and Mama Lorie) are truly going to be missed. They were always so caring and interested in what was happening with you. I always felt so welcome in their home throughout the years and always left with a smile (even the times when Ilene and I probably had some explaining to do ;-)). They were always laughing and having fun conversation together. I would like to thank all of you for including me in some wonderful times and memories with your family. Dave and Lorraine will always hold a very dear part of my heart.

I remember seeing Lorraine & Dave at gramma’s for some kind of Disch get together. We were still kids and didn’t hang with the adults much. But Dave was telling a story of something they had done and it caught my attention. After that, we all wanted to hear him tell us a story. I will always remember them with a smile on their faces and a drink in hand and all of us laughing. They will be greatly missed. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you. Hope to see you soon.

Both Dave and lorraine were special people. Just wish I had stopped more often. They were positive people who were always interested in how our family were doing . To the end they were still smiling. Dave helped me in real estate and my career. Many thanks for the opportunity to share their lives. Sincerely, Mike and Marilyn

Dodie, Jerry, Sharon, Ilene and Amy ~ What a beautiful Dad story! I feel so fortunate to have seen your Dad so recently, and was happy he was able to meet my wonderful husband, Michael- Curtis. Hope to be spending time with you. When I saw your Dad, I told him one of my earliest memories of your family was when your family lived in Seattle – I think only Dodie and Jerry were born – maybe Sharon. Dodie and I discovered each other and were instant best friends. We were maybe 5 or 6 and just had to spend the night. For some reason there was a tent in the back yard and that’s where we wanted to sleep. It didn’t go very well, and we ended up waking everyone because we got scared of a neighbor. Well, in the last visit with your Dad, I learned that neighbor was an unruly drunk, disturbing the whole neighborhood. We were too little to understand all of this, but had good reason to be afraid. So after all these years, it seems our fears were well founded. So many other wonderful memories and times with your family. I remember some boating outings, family get togethers, visits from my cousins who came to see me perform in plays. So much fun, and so many good memories. Sending my love to you all of you ~

Thank you to the Lamb children for such an exquisitely written letter about their dad and life together. So much love, laughter and great stories. You father (and mother) were such charming, energetic and loving people…full of life. The short bits of time I spent with you dad (and mom) was lovely and never dull! I feel your pain, and joy at the same time. Strange thing…love is. To my special friend Dodie, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I met your dad when I worked for my uncle Dale Warren many years ago and even helped tear down the old house at the site of the Pioneer Land building. I enjoyed seeing and talking with Dave and Lorraine on our chance meetings through the years and think of them often when I pass the old real estate office. Very good people.

Thanks to you for sharing your lives and memories with us, I’m sure Dave is still “watching the fire and the generator”, his favorite past time when we would go camping (or was that eating and drinking?). Either way, fond memories of you all!!

We had a beautiful service with just us as Mom and Dad wished. It wasn’t that they didn’t love you and want you to share in a memorial to them. They truly loved you all very much. They were outgoing but private still at the same time. They loved the one on one time with each of you but they preferred to avoid crowds. The Lamb Kids love you too. We’d love to see and hear from you. Thanks for thinking of us.
