Dustin Johnson

Obituary of Dustin Allen Johnson

Dustin was born January 24, 1977 in Los Angeles, California, to Kisa Treadaway and Dennis Law, and passed away at a friend’s house in Olympia, Washington, on June 16, 2013 from a probable medical overdose. Summer and Misty were his sisters. He came to Washington when he was a few years old. Dustin was adopted by Roger and Lynette (Donna, Kathy, and Tim) Johnson in April 1988 after four years of being in and out of their home. He attended Roosevelt and Rainier grade schools, as well as Faith Lutheran and Kings Way schools. He received his GED from Pierce College. Dustin played the trumpet. He enjoyed his dogs, his cat Jingles, and goats, and participated, by showing goats, in the Thurston County and Puyallup, Washington fairs while he was in 4H. For three years, Dustin delivered the Daily Olympian newspaper in the Rainier area, riding 10 miles on his bike every morning before school. He enjoyed challenges and daring adventures…like jumping from the cliffs into the St. Croix River in Wisconsin and driving by himself in his first car when he was 18 from Miltown, Wisconsin to Seattle, Washington in extreme wintery February weather. Dustin’s life was complicated by challenges and consequences, including a seizure disorder. People who took the opportunity to get to know him found him to be a caring, committed friend with a good sense of humor. He would want to thank all the people who came into his life as helpers and encouragers, friends and professionals. Dustin enjoyed meeting and visiting with people and one of his gifts was his understanding of the character and motivation of others. His three children are Christian, Layla, and Payton. Dustin was a challenging and loving family member who believed in Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He will be missed by many people.
