Obituary of David Lee Jamison

David Lee Jamison passed away to Heaven on April 16, 2014 at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. He was born in Kinsley, Kansas, on June 14, 1937. At 17, Dave enlisted in the Navy; after he fulfilled that commitment, he enlisted in the Air Force. Dave was a union electrician by trade and had more than 35 years of service when he retired. He remained a member of Local IBEW 76 and was recently honored with his 50-year service pin. Dave was a member of Mountain View Church of the Nazarene. He was baptized at Mountain View and often talked about how significant of a step that was in his Christian journey. His faith in God, his family, and his church family were very important to him. He proudly watched his grandkids achieve various milestones and cheered them on during the activities they participated in. He enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, watching any afternoon daytime show that had a judge in it, reading and listening to “Classic Oldies Rock.” Throughout his life, his hobbies included taking old rusted out muscle car shells and turning them into showroom quality vehicles. He also had the amazing craft and skill of carpentry. If he could think it out and draw out it, he could build it! He helped many family members with major house remodels, assisted with building sheds, and even converted a storage shed to a small office. Dave deeply loved his family and always worked hard to do the best he could and to provide and care for them. He is survived by his loving wife, Maria; his children, Tena and Lesa; his stepchildren, Lisa, John, Sean and Tiana; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary; and his son, David Jr. Dave also had a special love for his dogs, Aimee, Nikki and Moe. Dave would do anything for anyone if he had the resources. He truly was a “give you the shirt off of his back” kind of a guy. Dave will be remembered for his sincerity, kindness, patience and generosity. He will always be remembered for sharing his truly priceless knowledge and wisdom, which he freely gave to everyone.
