Obituary of Alaire Lucile Beckett Hutchins

Alaire Lucile Hutchins passed away peacefully Sunday, July 28, 2013 in her home at Roo-Lan Assisted Living in Lacey, Washington. She was 93 years old, born February 13, 1920 to the Reverend Averal and Ina Grace Beckett in a small town in southern Ohio where her father had a circuit of country Methodist churches. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Rutledge Hutchins; two sisters, Lorraine Moore and Elaine Schnaebelie; her son, Robert Joseph Hutchins; her granddaughters, Tara Eileen Hutchins and Francesca Marie Hutchins-Huff; and her grandson Todd’s partner, Dawn Small. She is survived by her son, Richard Blaine Hutchins; her daughter-in-law, Annette Sue Hutchins; two grandchildren, Justin Blain Hutchins and Alyssha Ann Gardner; and three great granddaughters, Izabella Anna Hutchins and Ruby Lee and Etta Mae Gardner all of the Phoenix Arizona area; her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Hutchins of Torrance, California; her daughter, Jacqueline Grace Crow; grandchildren, Todd Richard Crow and Lucile Eileen Crow; and great grandson, Spencer Robert Small, all of Olympia, Washington. Alaire was always very active in the Methodist church and served as president of The Methodist Women’s Society more than once in Redondo Beach, California. She was president of the Northrop Grumman Wives Club in Alkobar, Saudi Arabia. Most recently, she belonged to The United Churches of Olympia. She was an artist for many years and sold and left many paintings. For several years, she taught oil painting in her home. She had a business for several years, putting on costume shows of costumes from the Arabian countries. She taught herself to play the piano as a child and acted as church pianist in her youth. She also put on slide shows of the many places in the world she and Bob travel to. She and Bob where married for a little over 70 years. She had a very happy, almost trouble free life and had done everything that she had ever wanted to do. Please leave memories of Alaire or condolences for her family in the Guestbook below.
