Obituary of Jackie Huber

Jackie Huber, beloved wife and mother, passed away after a valiant battle against cancer on November 11, 2013 at the age of 82 in Lacey, Washington. Jackie graduated with a degree in nursing from Seattle University. Shortly thereafter, she met Rick and they were married and supported each other in a loving marriage for the next 65 years. Thus began a career of care and love that touched patients and friends at the Memorial clinic in Olympia Washington. Known as the “laughing nurse,” she blended her professional experience with a genuine ability to make patients feel welcome. As a mother, Jackie applied her unique skills to “go above and beyond” in supporting her family members and her many friends with sincere care and loving support. Both Rick and Jackie, as career professionals, soon found themselves in retirement and traveled to Europe and around the United States. Jackie’s retirement was marred by the diagnosis of cancer and she fought the pain with a conviction for life seldom seen. She lost this one and only battle and will be profoundly missed by all she touched. Jackie is survived by her husband, Rick; son, Jeff; and daughters, Sandy and Kristin.
