Obituary of Joseph Ellsworth Hicks

Joe was born in Seattle, Washington to Wallace and Amy Hicks. This is where he met his future wife, Cheryl Smith, and they married on February 2, 1963. They resided in Seattle where they raised their three sons Kevin, Kelly, and Kyle and beloved dog Cyrus. Joe worked at Rainier Brewing Company until his retirement. After retirement, they moved to Lacey, Washington. He was actively involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s lives. He enjoyed playing baseball, fishing, hunting, and spending time with friends and family. Joe was one of the good guys. He was quite mischievous and loved playing practical jokes on people. He truly loved to make people laugh. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Cheryl; his mother-in-law, Charleen Smith; son, Kevin, and his wife, Amber, their children, Spencer and Alisa, and granddaughter, Charlie; son, Kelly, and his wife, Elizabeth, their children, Jordann, Drey, Cole Austin and Nash; son, Kyle, and his children, Cole and Gunnar; and many wonderful family members and friends.
