Obituary of Robert Hardin

Robert Hardin, 54, passed away September 4, 2014 in Rochester, Washington. He was born November 16, 1959 to Cliff and Betty Hardin in San Jose, California. A resident of Rochester for the past 21 years (1993-2014), Robert also lived in Los Gatos, California (1959-1967), San Jose, California (1967-1982), Augsburg, Germany (1983-1986), Campbell, California (1986)-1991), and Olympia, Washington (1991-1993). Robert graduated from Leigh High School in San Jose in 1979, completed U.S. Army Military Police School at Fort McClellan, Alabama (1982-1983), completed industrial security program at De Anza College in Cupertino, California in 1989, attended Bates Technical College, Tacoma, Washington (2009-2010), and received an AA degree in Accounting/Bookkeeping. Robert served in the U.S. Army (1982-1986), stationed in Augsburg, Germany. He married Francine Benedict on December 14, 1983 in Lake Tahoe, California. Robert was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved traveling, hunting, fishing and going to NASCAR races. He also was a loyal fan of the San Francisco 49ers. Robert was a member of VFW and Eagles Lodge in Tenino, Washington. Professionally, he was a security rep for CAE Link Flight Simulators (1986-1991), a merchandiser at RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. (1991-1992), a truck driver/salesman for Black Hills Distribution Co. (1993-2007), and truck driver for Ferrell Gas (2008). Robert is survived by his wife, Francine Hardin of Rochester; son, Robert E. Hardin Jr. of Rochester; daughter, Rachael Southard of Rochester; parents, Cliff and Betty Hardin of Modesto, California; brothers, Mike Hardin of Modesto and Steve Hardin of Beach Park, Illinois; sister, Tami Berg of Phoenix, Arizona; and three grandchildren of Rochester. Robert was preceded in death by brother, Jeff Hardin. Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans at www.cst.dav.org.
